♥The Horse in History
For centuries, the horse (Equus Calibus) has been our partner in work and life. They pull carts, carry humans and and are also our friends and companions. They are strong and gentle animals, thought to be descendants of the Prezewalski horse, as shown below.
Today, horses come in many breeds including the Arabian, appaloosa, and American quarter horse, being the most popular horse in the United States.
Horses can be found in farms, zoos, stables, at homes, and in the wild.

Foal: a young horse up to 1 years old.
Colt: a male horse up to 3 years old.
Dam: a mother horse
Filly: a female horse up to 4 years old.
Mare: a female horse over 4 years old.
Gelding: a male horse that has been gelded, (being unable to breed.)
Stallion: a horse over 3 years of age that is able to breed or have babies.
